Join us for a Level 1 Dungeons & Dragons campaign in the world of Thesys! Participants will choose one of three campaign groups, each led by a volunteer Dungeon Master. Groups meet every three weeks through July and August and follow a connected three-part mini-campaign. While each group tells its own story, all adventures take place in the same shared world. This summer's adult D&D games take place on and around Heartgrove Island, one of the richest and most influential islands in the Balladsung Isles. In celebration of the library's "Plant a Seed, Read" theme, each campaign explores conflicts tied to agriculture, trade, and the communities that depend on them. -- The Fivefold Gate of Vzdor (July 1, July 22, August 12) Far north of Heartgrove, mysterious magical gateways have transformed the city of Vzdor into a booming center of adventure. Sponsored by a mysterious and wealthy patron, players will enter one of these dangerous gateways and battle their way through five deadly floors filled with apex monsters, treasure, and ancient secrets. Success may bring wealth and glory, but failure will bring death and ruin! The Chancellor's Inauguration (July 8, July 29, August 19) The people of Heartgrove gather to celebrate the reelection of Chancellor Marco Masefield, whose leadership has helped secure prosperity across the island. Guests are invited to attend a lavish inauguration ceremony, provided they provide their adventuring services for backup should anything go less than smoothly for Mr. Masefield’s taking office. A plot against the Chancellor threatens to turn the festivities upside down. Players are hired to ensure the event remains peaceful… and profitable. Shipwrecked Shores (July 15, August 5, August 26) As you travel toward the breadbasket of the Balladsung Isles, violent storms, dangerous monsters, and other unforeseen threats turn a routine voyage into a fight for survival. Cast off course and stranded far from your destination, you and your companions must navigate hostile shores, uncover local mysteries, and find a way back to civilization. Heartgrove's fertile fields and prosperous towns lie somewhere beyond the horizon, but reaching them will require more than a little luck. Will you overcome the trials of the journey and arrive at the island that feeds an archipelago, or will the dangers of the sea prove too great to overcome? -- 1st-level characters are required for all campaigns and can be provided upon request. Registered participants will receive a Session 0 email with additional campaign information as we move closer to each campaign start date, with opportunities to ask questions before play begins!
