The Grand Kyiv Ballet brings its landmark new production of Swan Lake to Wenatchee. Tchaikovsky's score is intact, but everything around it has been reimagined: vivid light design, illuminated costumes that flow with the dancers' every step, and a company of dancers drawn from around the world. The tour describes each act as unfolding like a living art installation — technology woven in to enhance the classical ballet rather than replace it. If you know Swan Lake, this is the familiar legend told in a different visual language; if you've never seen it, it's a generous way in. Roughly two hours with an intermission.
